If a retailer’s various supply chain processes are not firing on the same cylinder, then how can they ensure across-the-board customer satisfaction? The answer is they can’t. Large retailers likely have many distribution centers, managed by different in-house and outsourced operators, running on different systems – and therefore they employ different tactics to ensure their supply chain runs smoothly. The key to solving this supply chain segmentation is to consolidate these processes, rather than let them function in silos.
