Currently, pulverized coal-fired (PC) plants are dominant in the
power generation sector in China. The capacity and number of the
circulating fluidized bed (CFB) plants in use, especially for low-rank
coals or fuels, have been increasing since the last decade. In 2006,
the numbers of CFB boilers increase to 2000 with a total capacity of
about 50 GW, which is about 10% of total capacity of coal-fired
plants (the capacity of coal-fired plants at 2006 is 480 GW) [25]. Of
all plants, over 90% plant installed electrostatic precipitators (ESPs)
as the particle emission control devices (PECDs).
