Bang Khun Thian has Bangkok’s only sea shore, a coastline of about 5 km long containing mangrove forests and shrimp farms. It is also Bangkok’s southernmost district. It is a very old district, believe to be established in 1867. The northern part of the district contains housing villages, while the southern part has a fishing community and the sea coast is famous for the seafood restaurants. It also has one of the biggest shopping malls in Thailand, the Central Plaza Rama II. It is accessible through its major roads and highways.
