Clinical cases
Case 1
Clinical history
A 25-year-old female presenting with new pelvic pain, having
had regular menstruation with last menstrual period (LMP) 16
days ago and having had a negative pregnancy test (-ve PDT).
Ultrasound findings
A transvaginal scan was not tolerated; a well-filled bladder
enabled good visualization of the pelvic contents using a
transabdominal technique. A normal uterus and left ovary were
demonstrated. In the right adnexa a complex cystic mass was
demonstrated within the right ovary (Fig. 1a,b).
