4.7 Organizational culture
Participants were asked whether HRM shaped or was shaped by corporate culture in their hotels. The results in
Table 2 show that HRM strategies and policies are not shaped by corporate culture. Thus little attention and
consideration are given to the hotels’ culture when formulating HRM strategies and objectives (mean 2.288).
Table 3 shows that the integration of HRM objectives with hotel culture is negatively related to hotel size and
classification respectively. On the other hand, no statistically significant differences were found between the two
