A franchised start-up business may be more “bankable” than an independent business start-up. A growing number of banks and other financing sources are showing greater willingness to finance franchised business. When a franchisee sells the franchised business, a prospective buyer may be more willing to buy a business that is part of a recognized and successful franchise organization than an independent operation (which may be highly dependent upon the personality and public recognition of its individual owner for its success).
