Bavaria House, in Appold Street, London EC2 started out as a speculative office building, but was purchased by FPM's clients, Bayerische Landesbank Girozentrale (BLG), prior to practical completion. At that stage, BLG's own designers and technical consultants became involved, cut short the building programme by negotiation with the base building developer and contractor and varied some of the finishes and technical detail to accommodate BLG's operation as the London branch office, complete with dealing room and supporting management and administration functions. At this stage, the decision was made to sublet accommodation surplus to BLG's own requirements and to appoint FPM as managing agent.
