Negative attitudes toward individuals with schizophrenia
were reduced in the intervention group compared with the
control group. There was a significant difference between
groups on the AQ-20 negative emotions subscale, F(1,
142) ¼ 4.27, p ¼ .04, h2 ¼ 0.03, with the intervention
group (adjusted mean, 5.98) reporting lower negative
emotional perceptions than the control group (adjusted
mean, 7.07). This effect accounted for 3% of the variance
in the outcome. There was a (near) significant difference
between the groups on the AQ-20 fear/dangerous subscale,
F(1, 142) ¼ 3.29, p ¼ .07, h2 ¼ 0.02, with the intervention
group (adjusted mean, 16.42) reporting lower fear/
dangerous perceptions than the nonintervention group
