The Asean Single Window concept to strengthen the region's education sector must be backed by a seamless framework of partnerships to ensure better education in its 10 member countries, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
.
Calling on member nations to develop more mutual needs-based programmes that could foster partnerships to realise the ambition, he said they must also come together to develop quality education.
He outlined the need for programmes that would improve teacher quality, leadership quality as well as curriculum and assessment systems.
Malaysia, he said, would be more than willing to share its experience and offer its expertise in developing the framework.
He congratulated Indonesia for having outlined a comprehensive way to boost regional education collaboration in the policy brief titled "Towards Asean Single Window: Strengthening Our Education Collaboration".
"Our priorities demand that we focus on the systems, our community and our connectivity."
"It is, therefore, crucial that we learn the best from among us in those areas I have outlined so that there will be no more gaps between us."
The Asean Single Window is the environment where the national single windows of member countries operate and integrate.
