Could you reply each point in below ?
Thank you for the quote. I’m excited to say that I think we can definitely make this partnership work!
I’m wondering if there may be some areas that we could look to cut costs...
I see that what I think is the carnitas recipe with the most fresh lime juice is significantly higher than the first recipe. I’m hoping we might be able to tweak that at the plant and find a good middle ground.
The printed box cost may also be something to examine. In my experience, some printers have charged a premium for the 7 color design because they need to run additional passes on the press depending on the equipment they have. We can likely reduce this design to 5 color if that would help.
We might also be able to reduce the board weight of the box. We use a pretty heavy board with our current boxes because we need them to stand up well on the shelf and the heavier weight makes up for their shallow depth. The jackfruit box is deeper, so that may help.
With distributor and retailer margins in the US, every penny will count in making this a successful launch and giving consumers the opportunity to try a strange new (delicious) product. As it stands, I would love to proceed with the scale run next week as discussed previously and when we finalize the recipes if there are some cost reductions that would be great. Please confirm.
One other important question I have is what volume we can confirm available for this season. Please let me know as soon as possible as I will need to prepare financing.
If the supplier/co-packer agreement will be between Upton’s and NR. Instant Produce, and they have a standard agreement they use, please ask for it to be forwarded to my attention for review.
I would love to get everything finalized as quickly as possible, by the end of next week if we are lucky!
Overall, I am very pleased and am thankful that you have worked so hard with me to make this a reality.
