Combined teams of security officers guarded Ban Khuan Meed permanent border checkpoint around the clock. Additional closed-circuit television cameras had been installed at the checkpoint and surrounding areas.
Police tightened security in Chana, Thepha, Na thawi and Saba yoi border districts as well as in downtown Hat Yai.
