Obstacles in implementation
While incorporating history into the classroom, presenting historical perspectives while maintaining mathematical rigor proved to be difficult. Unfortunately in upper level courses (such as algebra II Honors)Teachers are not often given the freedom to fill the curriculum as they see fit, and many of the historical topics incorporated did not always involve the level of rigor expected in such a course. A brief discussion with administration of the benefits of including such material want a long way in providing the opportunity to, at times, veer off course.
