Doritis pulcherrima var. buyssoniana is a
monopodial lithophytic species distributed only in
Thailand and Indochaina (Christenson, 2001). It is
known as Daeng Ubon, an endemic orchid in Ubon
Ratchathani province, north-east Thailand (Rakpaibulsombat
, 1992). With larger flowers, larger leaves and
longer inflorescences than Doritis pulcherrima, its
attractiveness creates a huge demand of plant
materials. It is thus necessary to find the most suitable
method for mass clonal propagation.
