Japanese dolls are a popular traditional craft. Visitors can experience the production of Japanese dolls at the Tougyoku Dolls Hall. The Tougyoku Dolls Hall is located in Saitama's Iwatsuki, a town that has been well known for Japanese dolls since the Edo period. Visitors can experience the production of Japanese dolls on a regular basis. A number of experience courses are available, but the longest one does not take more than two hours. Therefore, participants in any course can take home what they manufacture. The Tougyoku Dolls Museum is located in the same place, where visitors can see valuable collections, such as hina dolls (dolls displayed at the Girls' Festival) that were manufactured early in the Edo period (200 years ago). The facilities offer a variety of attractions related to Japanese dolls as traditional products, such as the production and exhibition of Japanese dolls and tours to the studio and museum in the facilities.
