The AVP - Claims will report to the COO and will be responsible for managing the claims department. This will include analyzing claims reports, communicating results and developing action plans. The AVP - Claims will also be responsible for ensuring claim files are handled in accordance with company guidelines and contribute to profitability by effective implementation of claims handling best practices to control costs and claims expenses. He or she will make recommendations on claims policies and procedures. He or she will also ensure communications with appropriate parties regarding the handling and/or disposition of claims.
The successful candidate will be educated to a minimum degree level and will have at least 10 years of experience in claims. He or she will also have about 5 years in a management role. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills he or she will also have the ability to communicate with all business levels. Moreover, the AVP - Claims will be objective and professional when involved in conflict resolutions.
