Each Proton at Pronto is unique and has a fascinating life story. Chamaiporn Chankaew – more commonly known by her Thai nickname, Chamy – has been at Pronto for five wonderful months. Those who know Chamy would describe her as an outstanding friend, a free spirit and genuinely happy around the clock. This is most likely because she is living her life to the fullest and keeps Bernard M. Baruch’s famous quote, “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind,” close to her heart.
Before Pronto, Chamy was busy experiencing other cultures. After graduating from university, she tested out the life of a photographer for a year and then decided it was time to explore other countries. She dropped everything in Thailand and spent the next three and a half years in America where she honed her English speaking skills and enjoyed the American culture.
A common tendency in Chamy’s life is her desire to experience new things. Chamy can speak Thai, English and Spanish, and loves international foods. She is open to anything and enjoys trying things that are out of her comfort zone, such as eating ant eggs! It is because of this trait that she prospered in a foreign country completely different than her own for an extended period of time, and later decided to work at Pronto.
After returning to Thailand from the United States, she was hired at Pronto to be apart of the newsletter team as an Email Newsletter Producer. Chamy explained, “I did not have much experience in writing newsletters, but I got an opportunity to try it, so I thought to myself ‘why not?’”
Chamy quickly found her stride communicating and assisting Pronto’s clients, to develop and schedule the newsletters they send out to their clients. Today she is very happy she took the opportunity, seeing that she could not speak more highly of every aspect at Pronto. Even in her time outside of work, she is promoting Pronto and how happy she happily explained, “I have never felt burdened with the thought of going to work; it’s a joy to me. Much of this is due to the fact that my colleagues are cool, fun, and make me feel forever young.”
One of her favorite memories at Pronto is from her firsts few weeks working there. New Protons are assigned buddies who are a secret in the beginning. Along with many other small funny gifts, Chamy’s buddy gave her a Barbie with green hair! Because of this, Chamy assumed her buddy was a girl, however she later found out it was her boss, Cory! There is never a dull moment at Pronto and she does not see herself moving on from Pronto in the future.
