DISCUSSION
In this retrospective study of collected data from older stroke patients that underwent PEG, insertion due to OD weight loss was a common finding. In two out of the three stroke units, nutritional status appeared to be insufficiently assessed and recorded. The most common PEG-related and gastrointestinal complications reported in the study population were a local pain, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, leakage, and local bleeding. In addition, PU was reported in 50% of the patients.
