The soccer place kick
The task performed was a maximal velocity instep place kick to a stationary ball. Essentially, this corresponds to the penalty kick in soccer. The standard sized and standard inflated ball (FIFA standard) was shot 4 m towards a 1 X 1 m goal. To minimise movement in the frontal plane, subjects were limited to a -20 13-m straight-line approach from a position directly two-dimensional analysis. Subjects were asked to maximise ball velocity although they should try to hit with their Preferred 1% The trial which produced the -30 behind the ball, which made the kick suitable for a 0 20 40 60 80 100 120 140 160 180 Time (ms) Fig. /. Angular velocity of the shank during the soccer kick. Note that the angular velocitv of the shank is zero within 8 ms the target area. Each subject performed instep kicks The shown is from 175 ms before impact until impact, highest linear velocity of the foot was selected for further analysis.
