Our real estate and infrastructure business consists mainly of the development, sales, operation and management of residential and commercial properties, as well as the construction and operation of expressways, port terminals and tunnels. Our key business operations in China are located in areas with high economic growth where we are able to capture sustainable development and growth opportunities.
Real Estate
Our real estate business is predominately carried out through CITIC Real Estate and CITIC Pacific Properties.
CITIC Real Estate, a strong CITIC brand with over 30 years of real estate experience, is involved in the development and sale of property. This business operates in 29 cities in China with abundant land reserves in high economic growth regions such as the Bohai Economic Rim region, the Pearl River Delta region and the Yangtze River Delta region. We are building Zhongguo Zun, a commercial building with a designed height of 528 meters. When completed in 2019, this new landmark will be the tallest building in Beijing.
CITIC Pacific Properties is the leading developer of high-end urban complexes, commercial properties and large-scale resort projects in China. It is currently developing projects in prime areas of Shanghai and major cities in the Yangtze River Delta area, Hainan Province and Hong Kong.
Infrastructure
CITIC Industrial Investment is involved in infrastructure investment, including the construction and operation of expressways and port terminals. It has a strong and experienced team in investment, financing and the operation of infrastructure projects. Currently, it operates three expressway projects, including the Chongqing segment of the Chongqing-Guizhou Expressway, the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway (downtown Chongqing-Fuling segment of the Chongqing Riverside Expressway) and the Chongqing segment of the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway.
We also own 71% of the Eastern Harbour Tunnel and 35% of the Western Harbour Tunnel in Hong Kong. The West Harbour Tunnel is a key section of the Route 3 highway connecting Hong Kong Island with mainland China and Chek Lap Kok Airport. The two tunnels enjoy steady average daily traffic and generate steady profits for the company
