In this paper, we perform an empirical study of modern
DDoS botnets and analyze how such attacks are
carried out nowadays. On the one hand, we analyze
more than 450 binaries classified by anti-virus vendors
as DirtJumper (also called Ruskill), one of the popular
families of DDoS-related malware.
