Another point to note is that the challenge was quite labour intensive
for the health promotion team that designed, implemented and
evaluated it. In order to improve the implementation process,
it should be streamlined for easier roll-out at other interested
workplaces by developing an online version of the healthy eating
logbook, reducing the number of eating habits recorded and
avoiding strategies that are not positively regarded by participants.
Finally, health promotion workplace interventions for healthcare
workers, particularly men and inactive staff, should be a priority
for the health sector. It has been recognised that staff health and
wellbeing is important for delivering high-quality patient care,
and that healthcare workers have a significant opportunity to be respected role models for patients and their families.33 This is
summed up by a comment from a participant who noted it was
good to see the health service finally taking an interest in staff health
and that this intervention was important because many of the health
service staff were poor role models for the patients they cared for.
