As shown in Fig. 4, treatment of the CD29 agonistic antibody (CD29 ligation) induced cell clustering by mediation of CD29 activation. It is interesting to note that the cell clustering was strongly blocked by the hexane, BuOH and H2O extracts from Cinnamomum camphora, as compared to the cluster size (Fig. 4A). CD43-induced cell aggregation , a negative control,however, was not blocked by these fractions (Fig. 4B), suggesting that the effect was not due to the non-specific interruptionof cell aggregation
