The combustion reactivity of the biochars prepared from cotton
stalk and bamboo sawdust decreases with the increasing final carbonization
temperature. The combustion reactivity of the cotton
stalk biochar is higher than that of bamboo sawdust biochar. The
cotton stalk can be used as raw material to produce barbecue charcoal
and the optimum final temperature is 600 C. The activation
energy of the cotton stalk biochar changes a little in the range of
61–66 kJ/mol and that of the bamboo sawdust biochar increases
from 78 to 91 kJ/mol with the increase of carbonization temperature
employed in the study.
