In order to further increase the credibility of this study, we also paid
attention to the resonance and dissonance between the quantitative and
qualitative findings (Greene, 2007; (Lincoln & Guba, 1985). Resonance
among the complementary sources of data provided us with
more explanatory power with respect to interpreting the effects of the
SSI program, whereas dissonance compelled us to revisit the data
and to further investigate what might have accounted for conflicting
views surrounding the enhancement of students’ communication
skills.
