Anti-government protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban on Friday night rejected any attempt to broker talks between him and the caretaker government.
His announcement came after the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) launched an operation to reclaim cduring the day in what was seen as an attempt to justify the enforcement of the emergency decree.
Mr Suthep said there have been several proposals from parties to mediate talks to solve the stalemate.
Mr Suthep said someone wanted him to hold talks with Thaksin directly but Thaksin could not enter Thailand. Mr Suthep was banned from leaving the country because of the insurrection charge against him so it was impossible for the two to meet.
