3.2. Solid-to-liquid ratio
Submerged fermentation with successively added fungal solid
mashes has been found to hydrolyze most of the food waste and
to give highest yields of glucose, FAN and phosphate. Therefore,
the investigation of hydrolytic efficiencies at different initial
solid-to-liquid ratios was carried out first with A. oryzae for 24 h,
followed by a second incubation with A. awamori for 12 h.
