The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) on Friday rejected former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra's bid to submit evidence to counter a charge that she was negligent in her duty in connection with the corruption-plagued rice-pledging scandal.
The vote came after NLA president Pornpetch Wichitcholachai scheduled Jan 9 next year for the beginning of the impeachment process in which the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and Ms Yingluck will deliver their opening statements.
