Because the debriefing sessions were not a formal, preplanned part of the study, no standard qualitative methodology was applied; therefore, the findings lack rigor. Moreover, as the current study focused on professional nurses, the proportion of men in the study was small, which is consistent with nationally reported demographics. However, the data were consistent enough to spark the interest of the study’s researchers. A future study of this phenomenon is currently underway. A report of the preliminary findings, as well as a potential theoretical explanation of them, are discussed in the current article
