This issue is a very big problem for Jin Pao. Thales have already moved Chromiting of Airbus 350 parts to Singapore.
During the most recent audit by Thales (last month), done by an Indian man, the result of JinPao was rated at "High Risk".
JinPao's biggest problem now is to regain trust in Thales. Right now JP does not want to take an chances and need YT to be very careful from this point on.
Da Chung was very frustrated.
ST 650 temperature issue
JP does not accept the letter from Surtec. They think Thales will reject it because it mentions copper-free Al alloys, but the material for the products JP is producing is not Cu-free.
I suggest JP to write a letter of approval themselves and let Surtec sign it. They agree. Somsak will work on this.
I told them it will be extremely difficult to ask Surtec to change their TDS for one customer. They understand.
ST 180 concentration problem
In 2009 JP started using this product for 5-series Al. The process plan proposed by YT and signed by ST was to use ST 180 at 4%.
In2012 Oct JP started producing Al6061 (higher Cu content). The NaOH etching from ST180 was too strong which caused the parts to turn black and have black spots.
JP changed the concentration from 4% to 2% to remove this produce. But YT was not informed by JP about this.
In Sept, Thales came to Audit and noticed a mismatch in actual process and proposed process. So JP had to change back to proposed process.
This resulted in all parts from Sept 11th to Oct 20th to be NG.
The parts can be reworked (according to Wichai), but JP has to pay for the supply shortage of Thales, about 1,000,000+ baht.
Together YT and JP revised the process plan and will get it approved by Surtec again.
I will also write a letter to explain why we changed the process plan, to present to Thales during next Audit.
JP's aerospace business takes up about 12% of their revenue. Generating about 10,000,000 THB/month.
JP has a staff number of approx. 1000 people.
