To evaluate the thermal performance of both the models ‘‘s1’’ and
‘‘s2’’ at different four configurations on natural and forced convection,
all the experiments have been conducted in the month of March
2012 (16.03.2012 to 23.03.2012) from 10:00AM to 18:00 PM because
of a drawn out sunshine hours. While the system remained under
observation till 20:00 PM to compute the output air velocity and exhaust
temperature after sunshine when performing only on halogen
lights purposely. Both the systems were placed at southward direction
at an angle of 43o from horizontal, exposed to the Sun. The system
was operated on natural convection by supplying of fresh air to
the inlet duct. It is notable that the cylindrical-conical duct was not
used in any of the natural convection process. While in the forced
convection it has been considered as an important element to supply
the forced air to the inlet rectangular duct of the SAH by an additional
circular duct at constant velocity. The velocity speed at the inlet rectangular
duct from circular duct was measured 2 m/s and kept constant
for all forced convection experiments. The experiments have
been conducted in following manner (point 1 to 8) in the climatic
conditions of Moradabad-244001 for both the models simultaneously
to observe the variations in performance.
