The highlight of Imperial Boat House Beach Resort on Koh Samui’s Choeng Mon beach is the 34 traditional teak rice barges converted into luxurious suites. Set into a lush tropical garden, these barges give the resort a unique, old mariner style. The larger of 2 swimming pools is also ship-shaped, with replica cannons to match. Rooms to the back are in low hotel blocks.
Spread among its expansive gardens, the resort has 3 restaurants, 2 bars and of course, a luxurious spa for Thai massage and health therapies.
The beachfront of the resort is especially relaxing, with big casuarina trees shading both sand and lawns. Sun lounges and umbrellas are provided through the day.
Guests can dine right on the sand. Choeng Mon Beach lies within a bay with little islands nearby – ideal for paddling the kayaks provided for guest convenience. This is one of Koh Samui’s more attractive beaches, only 10 minutes drive from the airport and a few more to the nightlife & entertainment centre at Chaweng Beach
