Lesson COG 45
Task: Name letters.
Prerequisites: COG 36, S&L 6
Concept: In this lesson the use of a receptive response (listening and then taking a physical action) is replaced with an expressive response (verbalizing). Unlike the prerequisite of "identify letters" (COG 36), the student must now make a verbal response. Printed letters in a block-type style are preferred.
Behavioral Objective: When presented with 5 randomly selected capital letters from a taught field of 26, the student will verbally identify the name of each letter to a 90% accuracy level for 20 trials.
Materials: A teacher-drawn set of the capital letters of the alphabet in a block-type letter style.
