POLICY
Potable Water Tank Cleaning.
PROCEDURE
1. The potable water tank is located in the plant room or on the roof of the hotel or underground.
2. The tank is to be cleaned annually or semi-annually as per local / international hygiene standards.
3. Tank to be disinfected and flushed as per hygiene standards.
4. If the Tank is in a confined space and the safety requirements as required in a confirmed space shall
be adhered to.
5. Full report to be issued on completion. Report to include condition of liner and any repairs necessary.
6. The tank is to be cleaned in the following manner:
(a) Install by-pass pipe work.
(b) Drain and pump out tank.
(c) Scrub walls and clean with high pressure water jet.
(d) Remove residual sludge and vacuum the floor.
(e) Disinfect and flush as per hygiene standards.
