Megan is learning how to swim. Megan asks her mom for help. So Megan’s mom takes Megan to the pool. They start in the shallow end. That way, Megan can stand up if she gets in trouble.
First, Megan puts her face in the water. Then she blows bubbles out of her mouth. Blowing bubbles is fun! Megan is not afraid to put her face in the water when she blows bubbles.
Second, Megan floats on her stomach. Megan keeps her face in the water. Megan still practices blowing bubbles. Megan lifts her feet off of the bottom of the pool. Megan is floating!
Third, Megan’s mom shows Megan how to dog paddle. Megan laughs. She thinks this sounds silly. But learning how to paddle like a dog helps teach Megan how to push the water with her hands—a helpful skill.
