et al. 2007) and rice (Samuel & Muthukkaruppan 2011), indicating that the filamentous fungi Penicillium spp. and Aspergillus
niger, associated with rice, mangrove and effluentcontaminated soil, showed the same contrasting results of
catalase and HCN tests, respectively
