The purpose of this role is to service the technical and administrative needs of the Arts Faculty (Music, Drama and Art) at the school, and to assume day-to-day administrative responsibility for the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) and the Art Studio.
This position reports to the Head of Arts.
General Duties
The responsibilities of the Arts Technician will include:
To Assist and support the day to day running of the Performing Arts Faculty, looking after the day to day curriculum needs of Art, Drama and Music.
To oversee the upkeep and maintenance of the PAC and Art Studio
To maintain all technical equipment used within the faculty
To coordinate orders as requested by the HOF
To assist in rehearsals as requested throughout the calendar year to ensure that full technical support can be offered
To programme, oversee and operate the lighting and sound for any assemblies, concerts, productions, examinations, conferences and events that take place in the PAC
To provide administrative assisstance in the day to day running of the faculty
To manage bookings for the PAC spaces after liaising with the HOF
To be up to date with relevant training for all technical equipment in the Faculty – including Lighting and Sound desks, Rigging lighting, patching in Sound and lighting
To oversee the maintenance of all musical instruments and art equipment within the faculty
To oversee and catalogue all instruments, props, costumes and art hardware within the faculty, ensuring that it is clearly maintained
To manage the PAC and Art Studio at evenings and weekends as directed by the HOF
To sell tickets and oversee Front of House duties for all events in the PAC
To manage external bookings in the PAC
To assist in the marketing, organisation and administration of the weekend Performing Arts Academy
