Introductions
The introduction is a variation of the referral technique. In addition to requesting the
name of prospects, the salesperson asks the prospect or customer to prepare a note or
letter of introduction that can be sent to the potential customer. The best letter is actually
a testimonial prepared by a satisfied customer. This technique can also be done on
the phone or in person. The buyer must hold the person doing the referring in high
esteem for the technique to be effective.
