Abstract
purpose : to study the outcome on the patients or hospital from using information received from the drug information service
Method: This study is descriptive study by tracking the results using the received information answering all question from 1 April 2010 to 30 September 2013 . The outcomes were assessed by inquiries from patients , relatives of patient , health care team related or medication information in patient records.
Results : . Study results showed that the drug information provided 1,037 questions can be assessed patients or hospital outcome were 768 questions (74.06%) , outcome on patient or hospital were evaluated 1,037 episode (100 %); of these, the patients were safe from medication error (43.59%) , the patients were safe from adverse drug reaction (24.98%), patients did not lose the opportunity to drug therapy (9.84%) , reduced the cost of patient care (8.78 %) and provided better treatment outcome (4.73%)
Conclusion: The Drug Information service provided useful information to health care team and patients, the information was applied to patient problems and the use of the information provided positive outcome on patient or hospital. Information on the problems encountered and the outcome can be analyzed to determine measures for the development of an overview of the hospital.
