3.2.2 Part II: Homophone Test
To design Part II of the test, 60 questions of simple homophones were selected to be used in the test by basing on the literature review in Chapter 2.
The question included such as : bare and bear, affect and effect, hale and hail, moral and morale, fair and fair, lie and lie, can and can, advice and advise, all ready and already, may be and maybe. In each questions, there were 2 statements with 2 options per statement. The statement for each set was recorded by website at http://www.dictionary.com/ and http://dictionary.cambridge.org/ for translate the statement two the test takers. Figure 3.2 presents two items of the test as an example.
