3.2.2. Fatty acid composition
The fatty acid composition of Atlantic horse mackerel is shown in Table 1, results in agreement with previously reported data (Eymard, Baron, & Jacobsen, 2009). Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA,C22:6 n-3) was the most abundant (18.02%) polyunsaturated fatty acid, and palmitic acid (C16:0) and oleic acid (C18:1, n-9) the main saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids, with percentages of 18.62% and 21.74%, respectively.
