Since parametric statistical techniques require that there are no violations of
normality assumptions, screening the data for normality is essential in the data
analysis. The Shapiro-Wilks test and a modification of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test
are the two most common tests for normality (Hair et al., 2006). In this study, the
Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistic with Lilliefors significant level for testing normality is
applied to test the normality of standardized residuals. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test
showed a p-value of 0.2, which is .0.05. Hence, the normality of the standardized
residuals was assumed.
