Article 7: Registration-PhD
In order to register in thesis, candidates must hold a national diploma of master or a diploma conferring the degree of master, at the end of a course of training establishing their ability to research. If this condition of diploma is not fulfilled, the CS may exceptionally grant derogations. To do this, the student should attach to its request for a derogation a full CV typed (with details of the scores and ranking) accompanied by a report on the research activities carried out previously (including (s) memory (s) of course) and a letter from the supervisor approached motivating the request for derogation.
Registration for PhD is pronounced by the head of the on a proposal from the Director of the ED (that relies on the advice of the CS) after consultation with the Director of thesis and the Director of the research unit. The thesis Director must be the holder of the diploma of empowerment in leading the research (HDR) or its equivalent; It must belong to a support of the ED SEVAB laboratory. Desirable ratios for the ED SEVAB is 2 (i.e. 4 co-encadrements). A co-director, Member or not SEVAB, may be admitted when it is very involved in the direction of the thesis. The designation of this person, in possession of a title of doctor, must be carried out during the first year of the thesis work and be subject to the approval of the CS. Required by the thesis Director. There may be more than two co supervisors, equal-percentage, i.e. 50% each.
PhD enrolment ED SEVAB without funding is prohibited. All students must have a remuneration which the minimum amount is set by the institutions of registration.
Application for PhD registration records, regardless of the registration year, are to withdraw to the secretariat of the ED SEVAB for doctoral students registering for UPS, to INSAT or INPT schooling for other students.
When the first inscription in thesis, the parts to be joined are:
-photocopy of the diploma of master or interim document of success to the master
-complete curriculum vitae typed
-notice of the Director of thesis and the Director of the laboratory with date and signature
-financial conditions for the preparation of the thesis
-theses Charter signed
The preparation of a thesis is 3 years. An additional year may be granted as derogating, by the head of the school, upon reasoned request by the applicant after notice of the CS of the ED. For this, the doctoral student will provide the CS the following parts:
-a letter of motivation of the candidate
-a report by the thesis Committee specifying the State of progress of the work and giving its opinion on the continuation of the thesis
-a list of any publications of the candidate
-the mode of financing of this additional year
Eventually, the PhD student and the supervisor can be heard by the CS.
If the thesis in co-supervision, the doctoral student must provide the co-supervision inter-facility signed convention.
