Gary closed the door behind him and slumbered into the large scream chamber, his body exhausted. He was a giant monster, nearly seven feet tall, covered in dark blue fur, topped off with a beastly face. He looked down at his partner, Harry, a short red monster with an oval shaped body that also acted as his head, a giant eyeball and mouth taking up the majority of his face. Harry gave a thumbs up and walked to a machine hooked up to the door and pressed a button.
“Great job tonight Gary! She was a loud one, that’s for sure!” Harry said excitedly as a small canister began lighting up.
“Yeah, she was somethin’. If we ever go back in there, I’m gonna need some back up.” Gary said as he yawned and scratched himself.
Harry jumped up and down excitedly. “Really? You think I can go?” He asked.
“Huh? I don’t see why not, the company doesn’t have any regulations against an operator tagging along do they?” Gary responded.
Harry hopped and raised his hand, giving the tired big beast a high five. He grabbed the canister and walked off to a storage cabinet, carefully placing it in one of the shelves. The two walked out towards the cafeteria.
“You hear about Farrell? He’s the new, up and comer, lookin’ to beat your record.” Harry said as he waited in line for food.
“Yeah, those young ones always think they got somethin’ on me. But trust me, I doubt there’s anything he can do to beat me.” Gary replied.
A lizard like creature with four legs and two arms swooped by, his toothy grin highlighting his otherwise ugly mug. Gary and Harry both glared at the monster.
“Well, speak of the devil.” Harry started.
“Harry, Gary. I think tonight’s the lucky night. Got my little dream team of doors lined up. These ladies are something else.” The lizard said with a smile.
“Look Farrell. I do this job so this city can stay alive, not to try to be some hot shot. You gotta be careful out there y’know.” Gary replied.
