During lactation, ADG of piglets was not significantly affected by treatments (P ˃ 0.27; Table 5), with an average value of 278 ± 5 g/d, but there was a positive correlation (r = 0.29, P < 0.05) with the average pHcy, which ranged from a minimum of 9.1 µM to a maximum of 29.1 µM. After weaning, up to 56 d of age, P− piglets in S− litters tended to have greater ADG than P+ littermates, whereas the tendency was the opposite in S+ litters (sow treatment × piglet treatment; P = 0.058;
