Before she left, she opened her umbrella, ready to face the rain. I ran to her and said, “don’t open your umbrella indoors, it’s bad luck!” Then something interesting happened…

No one has ever asked me why you shouldn’t open an umbrella indoors, it is just a superstition that my parents told me when I was young and I’ve always believed it. So I decided to find out where this strange superstition originated from and some other common British superstitions that I’ve always believed but never understood why!
