Health Concerns
Monoglycerides are trans fats that have been linked to heart disease, raised cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, immune system problems, and cancer. Many experts believe they should be banned altogether from food manufacturing. Trans fats are an entirely unnatural substance not found in natural food and are more closely related to plastic than to animal fat. As time goes on, manufacturers are using these substances less because of health concerns. They have even been banned in some places such as New York and Denmark.
