Recently we had two isolated burglaries one in July and one in (DON’T KNOW THE DATE PLEASE ADD IT HERE). These both happened during the daytime and were reported previously.
During the night of 1st / 2nd February, there were two burglaries and two attempted burglaries between about 10.30pm on the 1st February and about 02.00am on the 2nd February. In most cases the perpetrator entered or tried to enter through an open window or sliding door. He/she simply cut a hole in the mosquito net to enter the house. There was a long gap between the third and last burglary (about one to two hours) suggesting the perpetrator was hiding somewhere within the resort.
We conducted a thorough security review and discovered the security company had not conducted patrols in accordance with our agreement. They started and finished at the same time and patrolled the same route every night. There were no patrols between about 10.30 and 2 am. The burglaries occurred in houses opposite the club house where a guard should be positioned when not on patrol. We discussed this with the security manager and explained we would hold the security company responsible and may claim for the losses through his insurance company – they carry a three million baht insurance cover.
We will be employing a new security company by the first week in March and will notify all residents of the details as soon as arrangements have been made.
