The Center for Wound Healing at PAMC has become a reliable partner for physicians and a vital solution for patients suffering from acute and chronic diabetic, pressure and vascular non-healing wounds. It’s no surprise, because we’ve created a center that is wholly dedicated to the treatment of non-healing wounds.
Our program provides complete inpatient as well as outpatient services delivered by a multi-specialty team of health care experts. This approach has been proven to significantly reduce the rate of amputation, improve wound healing, and reduce the length of stay during acute hospitalization.
OUTREACH WOUND CARE NURSES AT YOUR SERVICE
At the request of a primary physician and as a public service benefit, one of our nurses will visit patients at their home, the physician’s office or nursing home, and conducts complete wound assessments. After the assessment, we report treatment recommendations to the physician and coordinate approved treatments and tests.
SURGICAL INTERVENTION
If our specialist agrees that the patient would benefit from surgical intervention, our nurse coordinates all necessary arrangements, including transportation and facilitating communication between family, physicians, and caregivers.
POST-OPERATIVE CARE
Our nurses visit patients weekly to assess the wound, update treatment plan, and keep physicians informed of progress until the wound heals.
HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY (HBO)
We are now proud to offer Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy – a proven treatment option that improves the rate of healing dramatically. HBO is the inhalation of 100% oxygen at greater than normal atmospheric pressure and may eliminate the need for amputation, restoring overall quality of life.
