Experimental animals
Sprague-Dawley female rats
(nulliparous, 12 -14 weeks old)
were obtained form the Animal
House, University Science Malaysia (USM). The
experimental procedure was approved by AIMST
University, Human and Animal Ethical Committee
(AUHAEC 75/FOM/2012). The animals were
housed in a well-ventilated animal house with 12-h/12-h light/dark cycle, and easy access to water
and standard pellet diet. The animals were
randomly selected, marked to permit individual
identification, and kept in their cages for at least 5 -7 days prior to dosing to allow for
acclimatization to laboratory conditions.
