Sesbania javanica Miq. flower or “Sano” in
Thai or “Phak hong hang” (northern Thai). The
Sesbania javanica Miq. flower is a leguminous
plant (Leguminosae) originally grown in Southeast Asia, especially in Thailand. The Sano
(Sesbania javanica Miq.) flowers are harvested
only in the rainy season. It is commonly consumed in Thailand. It has also been used for its
diverse medicinal properties. In ancient Thai traditional medicine, it was used as an anti-inflammatory for insect bites, detoxicification, intestinal abscess healing, stomach discomfort and to
relieve internal fever and thirst.
